There’s less than two weeks of school left! Our chapter is buzzing with bittersweet feelings as we reflect on the great year we’ve had and look forward to our futures:
Kickin’ the Fools Away 2013 for PCAA
Our 3rd annual kickball tournament, benefitting Prevent Child Abuse America, was a huge success! Thanks to the hard work of our philanthropy chair Ashley Flores, our hardworking sisters, and everyone who participated or contributed to the efforts, we were able to raise and donate $1,182.62 – our personal record! It was a beautiful day filled with tons of fun. Also, congrats to Kappa Sigma and Alpha Gamma Delta for being named the tournament champs.

Alpha Beta Class
Our most recent members are finally able to be called ‘official!’ After completing the long journey through new member process, we welcomed them graciously as our youngest sisters. As a class they have so much excitement, and individually we are loving getting to know them more and more. Looking forward to many more memories with all of them!

our new sisters are always so enthusiastic and ready to see what SDT can bring
Our Dear Seniors
After numerous years in the chapter, we had to say goodbye to our departing seniors. We will never forget the passion and dedication they had for Sigma Delta Tau. They were amazing leaders and helped to bring our chapter up to places we never dreamed of. We are growing more every day and it is thanks to these wonderful women who got us to this point. Seniors, your sisterhood and legacy will not be forgotten! We will miss you, but you have so much to look forward to in your next journey of life. Good luck!

This year was so jam-packed, but we loved every minute of it! Enjoy the summer break, get some rest, and get ready to see these Sig Delts right back at it again in August when we participate in our first full formal recruitment at Purdue!!
Siggy love,

Thanks to seven exceedingly strong, willful, dedicated, and admirable women, Sigma Delta Tau has made incredible impacts on millions of women – both inside and outside of the sisterhood. On March 25, 1917 at Cornell University, Dora Bloom, Amy Apfel, Marian Gerber, Grace Srenco, Inez Ross, Regene Freund, and Lenore Rubinow created the first chapter of SDT. Since then almost 100 chapters across the nation have been established and continue to exemplify our founding principles of philanthropic service, leadership development, academic achievement, and friendship. Through Sigma Delta Tau, we have been able to find inclusion, empowerment, trust, and potential. On Founder’s Day, we take a moment to realize how significant the efforts of the founding women and the SDT organization have been in each of our own lives. We are sincerely grateful for that way of life that has come to us through our affiliation with Sigma Delta Tau.

Every year excitement escalates as our annual formal dance approaches. As formal came much earlier this time around than in previous years, Sig Delts were scurrying to get everything ready and perfect in time for the big night. Our social chair, Molly Wert stayed calm and collective as she seamlessly tied together loose ends and pulled off an amazing event. All of the ladies were beautiful and the night held many lasting memories!

Initiation Day
Congratulations to our newest Sig Delt sisters: the Alpha Alpha class! After a long semester of new member education, our youngest members are now official. Everyone is excited for the amazing contributions each and every one in the newest class will bring in the coming semesters. Siggy Love!

Every semester Purdue’s Sigma Delta Tau women help raise money for our national headquarter’s Sister to Sister Fund. This charity helps young women across the country find hope by supporting them in their educational endeavors. Providing scholarships to passionate women who deserve the right to higher education as much as everyone else, the Sigma Delta Tau Sister to Sister Fund is one proud way the Sig Delts are enriching lives.
This semester we are hosting an Orange Leaf Skip-a-Meal on Monday, November 12 all day. Bring in one of our flyers for 15% of the purchases to go towards our cause. We will be passing out flyers in the Union as well as outside of Orange Leaf. Orange Leaf is open from 10:30am – 11:00pm.

Whew! What an amazing and exciting evening! Tonight was the big Alpha Alpha new member class bid day and it couldn’t have gone any better. The SigDelt fiesta was a hit, complete with a nacho bar, SDT crafts, a photo-booth, gifts, and amazing women to share it all with. Smiles were everywhere and the laughter could be heard from down the hall! Everyone had a great time getting to know each other better, and by the end of the night, everyone was dancing and taking goofy pictures together as if we’d known each other forever! It was wonderful to be able to get a sense of the exciting memories in store for our chapter in the year to come. We’re off to a fantastic start and it can only get better from here. We sincerely hope that all of our new member class enjoyed it as much as we did, and we can’t wait to get to know the other members who couldn’t make it. The lovely ladies at Purdue Sigma Delta Tau cannot wait to begin this new journey with the Alpha Alpha class!
